Contract and PO Award from main Dutch Tunnel
OTN Systems is proud to inform you that we received the contract and Purchase Order from Westerscheldetunnel Maintenance, for the renewal of their Backbone Transmission Network. The Contract will enter into force on 1 January 2016 with the delivery of equipment and services scheduled during 2016.
Westerscheldetunnel Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance of the largest tunnel in the Netherlands, a 6.6 km long tunnel under the river Schelde. The contract covers the renewal of the backbone Transmission Network inside the tunnel, as well as on 14 km of highway leading towards the tunnel, to transport all the signals of the TTI (Tunnel Technical Installation).
The Contract value for the deployment of 27 N70 nodes and over 300 24-ports ETS is just over 1 Mio Euro. It also includes design and consultancy services, a FAT and close partnering during the entire lifetime of the contract. The new backbone replaces the current OTN600 network, that has reached its limits in terms of bandwidth for all the new Tunnel applications. Also a current CISCO network will be replaced by OTN Systems.
With this win, Westerscheldetunnel confirms its confidence in OTN Systems, after many years of good cooperation, and the recent renewal of their control center network by N70 and ETS.
I would like to thank Johan de Bilde for this contract win, Luc Vennekens for the offer preparation, Peter Heylen for his excellent support towards WSTM, and Jan Hoskens to facilitate the lengthy and complex contract negotiations.
